Read the Rules
We're happy to welcome you on the AOW3 Community of the-battlefield.com.
Be part of a AOW Community who organizes PBEM games, online games and
tournaments as well as regular LAN partys since AOW2.

Conditions for starting a PBEM:
1. An account on [url]aow3.the-battlefield.com
2. Register in a game there, if you want to participate or start a new game
3. Regular visits to get messages and news from the community
aow3.the-battlefield.com or the civforum)
4. Reporting the game after getting the score (after reaching the victory
condition)

Preamble:

These basic rules should provide a fair process of the PBEM games.
Some topics can be adjusted if requested for a specific game or according
to the wishes of the participants.
But we (the authors) recommend to adopt the given rules.
We make no claim to be complete and should you have additional suggestions,
please post them here in the thread.

Part 1: Generally
• PBEM-FairPlay: 1.Diplomacy and map / screenshot exchange only after
in-game contact with the appropriate player.
• Renaming of cities and units in order to confuse the opponent isn't fair,
one-time renaming after capturing or founding a city is allowed.
• Breach of contracts are part of the game, but be aware, mistrust against
you will increase in the future (and in other PBEMs too).
• To give actual threatened cities to other players who have a non-attack-
agreement (or other contracts) with the opponent is not allowed.
• Reloading (To reload a turn in order to get a different fight result) is not
allowed. In case you just "miclicked" (without getting gaming relevant
information), then reloading is okay.
• Reading in PBEM-stories of all teammates, even if they have retired, is
not allowed, as long if you're still participating in the game.

Part 2: In-game-Tricks
• Mutual attacks between friends or allied players, which have the goal to
get improvement for all participating units or getting bigger and more
powerful units (for instance Cavalry to Knights) are not allowed.
• If a player retires, the remaining AI should not be attacked/captured
without an agreement.

A game in Iron-Mode is recommended, because reloading or replaying
a turn is forbidden in this mode.
