Posts to the game:

I got lucky in this game with dwelling quests (giant dwelling gave me three quests after vassalization, each for two ogres, for a total of six ogres), dungeon rewards (three dungeons each gave me 2x T3's) and conversions (got some warbreeds with lesser convert). Meanwhine, Badok was still getting used to the tournament rules, and lost his army a couple of times. After seeing my armies, he offered to concede and I accepted. I did get to test my combo and Badok reported he learned a lot, so the game was a success. Badok also did a good job denying my scouting in this game. Definitely a player with lots of potential, I feel I'm in for a real challenge in my next game with him :p

The match went pretty much like Sauna described - tourney rules were a bit of a shock at the beginning and I made quite a few dumb mistakes (losing my leader on day one being the first and desperately attacking a Tomb guarded by Dread Reaper being the worst), but I carefully analyzed each of them and learned a bit from my opponent as well.

I tried to find ways to tip the scales to my favour, but by turn 20-25 the game was too far gone. When I saw that enemy heroes were way ahead of mine, his every fort well guarded I decided to surrender - no sneak attack would get me out of this one. By the end of the game all I could do was sniping down his scouts (or rather sending my scouts on suicide missions against his, dread scouts are nasty) and waiting for inevitable defeat - there was no point in dragging this on any further.

All in all, a very educational game - and a pleasant opponent. Looking forward to a rematch <smiletext1>

Heh, to be honest I came to this game with intension of learning from my eventual defeat (getting used to harsh reality of tournament rules, iron man, no re-dos etc.) - no real reason to tell ugly lies. Plus, I believe that stupidity should be branded and mocked and I can already count at least four dumb decisions I made in this game .

...I'm not above twisting the truth, however, so if we ever play a truly competitive game you can feel free to doubt my words ;>.

We'd be very interested by Polish translation! I'm sending you a chat message in a private chat tab here: https://www.the-battlefield.c...

You playing in Polish certainly explains why I got a notification that my starting city grew into a fancy Miasteczko instead of a boring old town.

Good to hear you've recovered from your poor start, even though I never take these things at face value, since mind games are part of the game and you should never buy into your opponent's propaganda Being an honourable gentleman I always speak the Absolute Truth but you wouldn't believe some of the scoundrels on this site!

No biggie, I don't mind occasional game-crashing, save-corrupting bugs here and there . As I started playing with thebalance mod I also started thinking that I could help translating the thing to Polish (I usually play in English, but this time it auto set to PL and I didnt bother switching it) - the occasional descriptions in english that pop up now and again can break the immersion easily.

Anyhow, how is it going? After my embarassing first turn I seem to be coming back on track <smiletext1>.

Didn't want to turn a first-timer into a betatester : D
DW about Hili, he has resurgence.

I'm all set up. We may switch to the beta branch though, if this is what makes Hiliadans happy.

Hey! I'm pretty noobish, so low tier will probably be more than enough to destroy me. Anyway, i will try to put up a good fight <smiletext1>

PBEM duel, tournament rules
Looking for a player of any skill level for a PBEM duel with tournament rules. I will be playing a low-tier combo, so feel free to either collect a free win or try out a low combo of your own. I'm also up for playing with the beta branch of the balance mod, just so Hiliadan won't get an aneurysm :p
