Hi to all fans of AoW3. We started this discussion to see how many players are interested in this format of tournaments. You are a veteran or a beginner on AoW3? It doesn't matter, you are welcome to join this discussion pool.  After joining this discussion pool, please define your skill level - are you a veteran or a beginner, - to simplify future unite in teams. If you are not registered yet on this site or don't want to register in the near future, you still have a chance to participate in this tourney. Please contact this players via Steam: skuns687lirik539; via GOG: Skuns249Lirik176, - to say about your interest in participating on this tournament. It will be a small tournament with only 4 teams, where each team consists of 3 players: 1 Veteran + 2 Beginners. And there will be 2 phases: group phase - 2 matches between random opponent teams, final phase - semifinal for 3-rd place and final for 1-st and 2-nd places. Hei I'd join. I think I am a decent live mp player. But I suck in PBEM. I play in the academy game atm with Marcus and Hiliadan and lost my main leader a hero and a T3 within the first 20 turns to independents at treasure sites. So I guess for all that matters I count as beginner for this tournament.

Hi. Of course, you can join Jean's team. But it may be only if he will be in the main list of players.   It depends on a blind chance. I give my word to do all I can that a random roulette would be honest and without personal involvement of the judges.

Of course, the number of veterans on this site is more than 4 players.  And to start this tourney we need at least 8 beginners + (2-4) spare beginners (for the cases of real life circumstances, or if someone will quit, etc.). If the number of players in lists (veteran or beginner) will be more than we need for the tourney, we'll do a random roulette to choose players who will participate as main players. All other players may be in the spare list. 
As for players skills, I have to clarify that the player will be define as a veteran not only by the ranking on this site (especially for the newcomers of the site). So an error is not excluded (especially for someone like JustaKing or HenrySix, no offense), and someone may say that he/she is a beginner.   But we have no choice and must believe people by their words.  

P.S. Personally I see no point in the format like 2 veterans + 1 beginner. It's like a blot on the landscape.

Hello. I am a PBEM begginer. I played a lot of live games two years ago. Team games too. I prefer Jean as my team mate, if possible. He is my friend for a long time.

Yes, I agree that such format (see the rules) are not so fair as all players, who will participate, deserve. But if we will have 3 matches at the group stage, it means that: 1) 2 teams will play against each other twice; 2) It'll take too long time. Though on the group stage each team may have 2 games at the same time, but I'm not sure that all participants will agree with it.
Good decision may be to have 5 or 6 teams, but all of it depends on the number of beginners. And if we will have so many of them, where the guarantees that they will not go away (quit, etc.).

But do you think the number of interested new players is twice as much as the veterans?

@Skuns Or are the demands for veterans so high that I count as a new Player? xD

I would be happy to join as a veteran for 1 team.
But why not make it a 3 match minimum with all play all and top 2 team fight in a final and 3,4 fight for 3rd place?
Its basically the same amount of matches as you suggest, but instead of you play 2/3 teams you play all other 3.
I think this is more fair, as otherwise a team could reach the "final" because they got "lucky" who they played.

Edit: Another option is to allow 6 teams of 3, with 2 groups, and 1st play 1st in other group in final and 2nd play second in other group for 3rd place finish.
