It was a very nice game to play, and I think from my point of view, the team members of my team became more active towards the end of the game. Not sure if it was because they got more confident or because thats just how the turns played out, I would like to think it was because of the confidence though!

To point out a few good things, I did a suicide attack o Dreadreapr with a strong army (nothing close to his strenght though) in the hope to kill a few key units, and my allies that was close by could finish it off. The very next turn, Rickyroo finished him:

As we can see from the screenshot, from his 24 units, only 8 survived, but my main army was fast approaching, and took city after city before finally meeting Moridin (Tigran Warlord) and taking his throne+leader in 2 turns, and then a quick swoop on Dreadrepr's throne with my flying units, to eliminate 2 players in 1 turn.

Test 1

Test 2

Well played to all team members! And the first Academy game is finished, would be interesting to hear if you learned anything or have feedback for future academy games!

Game Over :

I coordinate with Zaskow so that updates usually happen in between tournament rounds, that's why you do not encounter these issues during tournament matches most of the time. So it's not players not updating, it's the mod which is not updated.
Here Zaskow pushed the change faster because it was a bug fix (which failed with the first update).

It works OK in the tournament games ! Anyway, the mod version is OK now, until next modification. Thanks Hiliadan and sorry to bother you again and again with these mod updates issues.

Sorry, I didn't know Zaskow updated the mod to fix the Halfling RG3 bug. I updated the Dropbox with the latest version.

People on Steam get their mod updated with the latest version of the mod more or less automatically. Asking them to stay with an outdated version of the mod is going a bit too far.

Mod problem
I cannot play my turn because I have an older version of the mod. I have tried with the 20170131_v1-2-main and 20170415_v1-2-main versions and none works. Any clue ?

Why don't we just stick with one issue of a mod like we do in the tournament games ?

Yes, best thing to do is:
1/ back up the mod files from this folder: C:\Users\[your Windows user name]\Documents\My Games\AoW3\UserContent\BALANCE_MOD_FROM_VASYAN666 - PBEM [76561198009345019]
2/ remove that folder
3/ download the previous version of the mod here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qv... that's the .taf in the folder 20170131_v1-2-main
4/ put the .taf in the folder C:\Users\[your Windows user name]\Documents\My Games\AoW3\UserContent\
5/ launch AoW3 without updating mods and finish to play your turn
6/ remove the new C:\Users\[your Windows user name]\Documents\My Games\AoW3\UserContent\BALANCE_MOD_FROM_VASYAN666 - PBEM [76561198009345019] folder that was created and put back the old one

Message from Ricky: "I played most of my turn and did "save and exit" in order to play another game.  The other game required updates to play so I updated my mods.  Now back at this game it says I cannot re enter Academy game as I have an updated mod (1.2).  I can skip the remainder of my turn as I had moved most units.  So hopefully we can continue without incident!!  Is there anything I need to do at this time??"

I can't find the thread/blog post that explain in detail how you need to go back to the previous version of the PBEM Balance Mod, there is a backup of old versions on the dropbox folder I believe. Maybe Hiliadan can help?

Game will soon be removed
Hi guys,

Game will be removed in 7 days due to inactivity.
Since the player holding the game up (Elanor) is in Team 2, that team is down to 2 players if removed.
Then I don't see much reason to continue 4vs2, or what do you say?

If there is interest I can create a new session.

Is this game on ice? It's been a long while since my last turn.

Hi, I cannot play my turn because of the new mod : I am a GOG user and cannot upload it from steam. Can someone make it available somewhere where I can download it ?

Thanks !

By the way, guys, isn't it that ZeraTull was never in this game and instead it was Drenn? Because there is a player called Drenn in this site.

Hehe I say we continue! But wouldn't object to a rehost if that's what you want.
Everyone have made mistakes, some more costly than others, but as long as you learn from them, its not all bad.

I guess there is plenty of new guys that would love to take Drenn's spot in an Academy Game, so well, maybe that goes towards rehosting then.
