What is the duel league?

The duel league is a 1on1 league with a fixed match plan.
Everyone who likes Civ5 can join! If someone quits in the season, then all his matches count as lost. The games in the duel league do not count for the FFA-CIV-League.

How do I register?

At the duel league site, click at the middle right „Join Event“.

How does this work?

Everyone plays against every other player, with a first leg and a second leg.
Player #1 (the player who appears first in the match overview) has home-field advantage and can decide upon the settings.
Player #2 (the player who appears second in the match overview) has home-field advantage in the second leg and can then choose the settings.

If possible matches are played turnbased and not simultaneously and have to be played in one session (without loading). Saves are not allowed. Saving during a match does count as rule violation.

If a game has been terminated and it is not possible to load the savegame is not possible, then the game has to be repeated from the beginning on, if both players can't agree on a result. If no agreement is possible, then it has to be determined who has been responsible for the game termination. If a player is the second time responsible for a termination, then he loses the game.

If the score difference between to players is less than 100, then the game counts as undecided. If both players agree on it, then it is allowed to play until a victory option is reached. If both players agree on the match result, then it has to be announced at the website.

How will the matches be evaluated?

A victory counts with 3 points for the winner.
Undecided games count with 1 point.
A defeat counts with 0 points.

Allowed Settings (to be chosen from the player with home-field advantage):
Duell or tiny maps
Barbarians on/off
Goody huts on/off
North vs. south
East vs. west
Any other mirrored maps, which have to be approved by the tournamend committee.
Timer Fast
110 Turns limitid
On agreement until victory condition
Any settings are subjects to alterations.

Procedure:
Kickoff time and matchday: Fridays, 21 o'clock (GMT+1).
The game can be postponed upon agreement.

The match has to be announced to the tournamend committee. If one participant has no option to partake at this time, then the match can be performed at another time, more than once a week, too, if both players agree on it.

Seasons are limited to half a year, so the league is limited to max. 24 matchdays, these are 13 players, for organizational reasons we limit it to 12. If more than 12 persons participate, then a relegation/promotion system will get applied.

Prizes are not yet set, maybe the prize from the Welcome Cup will be carried over, if the cup can’t be terminated with a final match.
