Who would be interested by a "championship"? Each group has 4 players who play each other at least once during a season (so about 6-9 months per season probably). Then the #1 goes to the league above and the #3 and #4 to the league below (only the #2 stays within his current league). With 2 or 3 league levels (so 12 to 28 players).
Yes, major difference is it's not double elimination, it's a "forever" championship. Like a football championship. Each league has 4 teams only. You play all of them. Then at the end of the season, 1 promoted, 1 stay, 2 relegated
What do you have in mind beyond the usual rules we currently have? I first need to be sure enough players are interested and that we have a good way to do it technically before thinking about all the details
The way I see it, rules would be similar and settings too. I would implement the changes in settings discussed here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.co... (+ Fast Speed removed, and replaced with only the change to population, not to RP)
There would be no time limit on matches but if a match last longer than 2 months, players should signal it (both are penalised with less points if the match does not end). It would be possible to play all 3 matches in parallel if you want. Ah and I didn't think about the fact that only 3 matches mean it's different for the class/race pick restrictions. I guess at least you should not be able to pick the same class or race during a season. But that's less restrictive than during a tournament
If you don't want to use the 2020 tourney player pool, could make a new pool for 2021. I'm assuming we wouldn't get both league & separate tourney. I have no strong opinion on the format, just point me towards my first victim
What do everyone think about replacing the Elder Cockatrice in the Shadow Realm Community Expansion by an ol' Kharagh from AoW2? And what do you think of this model for it?
hahaha, I tried several times...convinced some of them to play in a few matches but they're not motivated enough and are even worse than I am,sothey have a ahrdtime playing against theplayers on thisplatform
The random map we play in has standard settings, so (un-)diggable underground walls are not reduced, is this an advantage (gain money, harder to get in the underground and be flanked/mining) or is it bad can't scoutand expand fast, especially as there isa lava river directly south of my city.
It's mostly an advantage. Basically more Diggable Cavern Wall mostly does not mean less exploration, it mainly means more money by digging. But more Undiggable Cavern Walls means the map is more boring and probably slightly harder to navigate
The ratio of casual to competitive games on the BF has significantly increased so your friends could probably find nice casual games with players who are not too strong now
Yeah, the problem is their motivation, I think they don't like the time it takes to get organized here and just want to have games with some friends. TZhey all mainly play other games such as Counter Strike, Assassin's Creed, DotA and many many more...but maybe I can convince them to check this place out another time (:
For the Kharagh above I have slightly different version without the Ape/Gorilla suit. It features one with tail and a more longer head which should probably be thematically closer to the older generations of Kharaghs from previous titles.
Reminder of the poll on the Championship: https://www.the-battlefield.c... Please also vote if you're not interested, so that we can get a good view of who's going to join or not.
