Greetings, just saw this. I was wondering what all this behind-the-scenes decision-making was about.
I have the same assessment of the game as Zytozoid, but that doesn't mean I think I deserve to win. These are timed games, and when games aren't finished, they're decided by points. That's just how it is. In fact, I just lost a game in the 2v2 tournament with very similar characteristics--my team was down on points, but we had all the momentum and an advantage where it looked clear that we'd win if we proceeded further. I have no problem taking that loss, & I have no problem taking this one.
To be fair, one big reason I'm down on points is because you enacted an excellent scouting campaign where you were destroying my forts & builders early--it was my fault for not protecting them better but to your credit that you did so. That really slowed me down. I was eventually able to recover & felt like I'd win, but I did run out of time. As you say, the game was certainly very close regardless.
And so in closing, I have a tremendous respect for you thinking forfeiting is the right thing here, Zytozoid. You show a tremendous amount of honor. But if you change your mind and want to take the win, I have no problem with it at all.
Sorry I didn't comment earlier. I'll forfeit this match. I think it was a close match, I saved a lot of resources up that I used and thus had a stronger military force/overall score in the scoreboard but I believe personian would have won in the end if we continued. So winner of this match is personian.
Hi! The deadline has expired, so @last player in the turn order (who is it?): please follow the instructions and send the screenshots of the scores to judges by private message here: http://www.the-battlefield.co...
Well, I was able to jam a turn in from a mobile hotspot with dwindling batteries. I'll do my best, but no guarantee I'll get in another turn by the deadline, we'll see.
I guess there's no way we could get a week's extension? Regardless, no worries, it's just a game, and although I think the result here is highly up in the air (I honestly feel I'll win it now, but I also honestly feel Zytozoid is currently ahead on points....but that's all just my opinion knowing little about Zyt's true strength or how the points system really works), I did have fun playing it. And I don't mind coming up on the losing end of an unfinished game...it's all good, & if Zytoid wins it on points, I think he deserved it and have no problem with it. It's just a game after all. :-) And again, I very much enjoyed the competitiveness of this one.
Hi guys! This round ends in a bit more than 2 days at 2019-10-29 5:4 PM +02:00. It seems likely that your game will be decided by a score victory.
Who is the last player in the strategic turn? That player has to follow these instructions:
1/ AFTER the deadline, the strategic turn is played until the last player in the turn order 2/ that player plays his turn, saves & quits, copy the save game to a backup folder 3/ that player re-enters the game and surrenders, then takes screenshots of all the scores (general, domain, research, military, happiness) . He does NOT end the turn. Instead he quits the game without ending the turn. 4/ he sends the screenshots to judges (marcuspers, Jonny Thunder and me) 5/ judges check the scores and take a decision
Your go-ahead was unfortunately timed right at the beginning of the weekend, & I didn't have any time to get to this until now. But I just recorded my turn as per your specs. It's uploading to youtube now, & I'll email the links to the judges when it's done (and note it here).
Hi! So personian gets a warning for reload without adequate proof. personian, could you please make a video in full screen (and AoW3 in windowed mode) showing you re-entering the turn from the PBEM lobby (so we see when you click on the Ironman notification) up to the point where the turn is fully uploaded? Then send it (through YouTube for instance) to judges. Thanks!
Ok so it seems you have nothing to send at this stage. I'm going to discuss that with judges. Please do not restart the turn at this stage. We'll tell you if you need to send a video of the turn.
And yes, please do close Chrome, etc. to avoid crashes. I have a kind of similar issue (though usually it leads to temporary freezes, not crashes) on my old laptop so I usually close most stuff when playing AoW3.
OK, not sure what to do. Do I just restart the turn again, in debug mode, and take a video of it? Is there anything I can send you _before_ I restart my turn? (like game files, etc.). I didn't have debug mode on during the turn, for what it's worth. And no screenshot of the crash, as my computer froze right when it entered a site for combat. Honestly, this is kind of my fault, as this has happened before, and I'm guessing that having too many chrome tabs on while playing can potentially fry me out--I've never had a crash like this happen when I don't have chrome open as well, so I've made a habit of closing chrome before playing....but I happened to forget to do so this time, and that may've caused the problem.
Happy to send you anything, I'm just not sure what it's supposed to be at this point.
Hi, can't tell. Just wanted to chime in because I was busy thel ast days having guests and today I'm drivign away to my odler brother because it's his birthday. Perrsonian, I'll do my turn when I can, likely tomorrow evening, but maybe I can also make it thjsi evening.
No worries, Zytozoid. I just wasn't sure what the situation was, & I know there's a time limit on the game. But with that said, again, no worries, you can get 'em in when you can. ;-) I don't mean to put any undue pressure on you.
