About the tournament - i will not argue with Gilafron's decision, i respect the point of view and i will continue with the believe that everything is cleared and there are no bad feelings left.

Thanks for everyone's effort and i hope we learned something.

I don't have the zeal to continue in the tournament.  I'm perfectly fine with letting xInt continue.

Published on Wed, 31 May 2017 18:32:24 +0200

Ok, please take your time to consider it through. It's probably good to confirm your decisions in for instance 24 hours, with a cool head.
There is really nothing to be upset about, your game went well and the scores are clearly very tight. We discussed how it would go in advance to let you be mentally prepared and the tournament will not be delayed because of you. So I hope we can finish this game without anyone feeling unhappy about the tournament.

I will forfeit.  This tournament is no longer enjoyable for me.  Good luck going forward xInt.  Let's finish our game outside the context of the tournament.  That game is enjoyable.

Thanks marcuspers for getting back to us.

Great! So we have nothing to do but finish our game for the fun of it (:

Gilafron - do you feel like starting another one and providing the score after 30 days? If you don't feel like playing some speed_up_ed game then i forfeit and wish you have some nice and close games for the rest of the tourney - hehe.

anyway i'm going to have the pleasure of continuing our game tonight (:

My original post was incorrect, I have edited the post, see below.

Published on Wed, 31 May 2017 16:41:39 +0200

Edited post, was a mistake on my behalf. The 5% margin is not enough to call a winner.

Ok, it was a rather quick elaboration between the judges. It was decided that the initial solution of a 1 month replay (new match) to decided the winner, if the scores are very close, stands.

You now have 2 choices:
1) Gilafron wins the match because his score is 5% higher. You host a new match and have 30 days to accumulate as high score as possible, or eliminate your opponent, to decide the winner.
2) You decide between yourself who want to forfeit the game.

Gilafron, we asked you to send the screenshot by PM, not here. I don't really see the relevance of your point: "please respect our opinion", sorry? This is a tournament with rules.

Discussing among judges.

Published on Wed, 31 May 2017 15:44:14 +0200

as long as we don't slow things down for others - i'm ok

i'll be home from work after 4 hours and it would be nice to have some clear instructions on what to do, sorry judges that it's another of my matches that you have to consider..

Published on Wed, 31 May 2017 15:10:49 +0200

Wow this was a really close contest! Less than 5% difference.
It would be very sad to decide such an evenly matched combat with a coin flip or one person surrendering.

Therefor we are discussing among the judges to let you continue to play this match for 30 days more, which would take you to turn 80 (1 turn per day) and surely a winner can then be decided!

@XInt, you should have the turn now.  I backed up the files just in case.  Let me know if you didn't get it.  And we'll finish the game.

@Hiliadan,  I'll upload the files in a moment.  Again, I'm perfectly fine with a coin flip.  I'm not going to do a month replay.  That seems silly considering xInt and my attitude through this game.  We're clearly here for fun and enjoying the game.  Please respect our opinion.

Strange map where i was not able to cross with my fire giants and ogres (3 ogres and 5-6 ogres, a lot of quests for me)

water-walking invisible units made me stay close to home and my early towns/fortresses got canceled a lot

i would not say much more because i hope to finish the game

As I said earlier, you're not delaying the tournament even if we do a rematch of 1 month because round 3 will be played in parallel. I'm doing the fake report now and launching round 3. Waiting for Gilafron's screenshots.

Published on Wed, 31 May 2017 08:48:13 +0200

Congrats on the better score Gilafron - hope we get to finish the game and judges please don't take everyone's time and drop me out of the tournament. Maybe the players that drop out can make games to clearly prove who is the best that didn't make it - hehe

Published on Wed, 31 May 2017 06:36:19 +0200

Huh.... you should have waited and contacted judges before reloading after the surrender that came too early. I think the best is that we consider it was your last turn this turn, but I'll check with other judges. Please send all the scores' screenshots to Fistandantilus, Marcuspers and I. <smiletext0>

Published on Wed, 31 May 2017 06:09:23 +0200

Whoops, I misread the message.  I surrendered, took screen shots, then realized we still had six hours to go.  So, I killed my session.  There is a game restart message.  I was at the end of my turn, so I just ended my turn.  I do know the score going into this last round and it is very close.  If you want to know...

Gilafron:  6,648
xInt:  6,334

I do have the screenshots in case we still need them.

Published on Tue, 30 May 2017 17:38:09 +0200

Hi there! Less than 16 hours left (you can check the countdown on this page: https://www.the-battlefield.c... so please remember that after the deadline, if it's Gilafron's turn, he plays it, backs up the save, surrenders, and sends the screenshots of the scores (all) to judges. If it's xlnt's turn, he finishes it, sends it to Gilafron and then same process.

To generate the matches of round 3, I'll do a fake report after the deadline with one of you two as winner, we'll then correct it based on the result.

Sorry that you didn't have enough time to finish this time! (but you can continue after, outside the tournament, as I explained to Gilafron on Steam)

Published on Sat, 27 May 2017 06:31:45 +0200

I, too, am enjoying this game and would like to finish it.  Honestly, I think it is about even.  So, I'd be ok with a coin flip to determine the winner.  That way the tourney continues on schedule and we can finish this game.

Published on Fri, 26 May 2017 09:19:31 +0200

Congrats on the good battle Gilafron, i needed 40 mana to get a wisp on the next turn to get your leader and snake ): and now i lost where they are...

we have the fenix hero going on so i wonder if those can get you but maybe that is just a lot of wishful thinking for me. I did a lot of stupid scouting and i lost tons of units 1 by 1 and i'm fine with droping out of the tournament to be honest. This is a nice game and i'd like to finish it (outside of the Tournament is also perfectly fine for me). So let's do it like this - if we can't have a clear winner by the normal end - i drop out. 1 month will mess all the time tables - but thanks judges for making big decisions upfront and being ready.

I have to go offline for the next 2 days - my brother's birthday, so going to the mountin site and back on sunday.

No replay would mean you start a new game and it lasts only 1 month. It will clearly be hard to kill your opponent in such a short period but at least you know from the start that you need to maximize point and/or rush.

The current round ends on  2017-05-31 9:19 AM. I think you both know the procedure but to remind you: if it's the turn of the 2nd player, then he plays his turn, saves & quits, backs up the save, then surrenders and takes screenshots of the score and sends to judges.
If it's the turn of the 1st player, he plays his turn, sends it to the 2nd player, who then does as stated above. That way a full turn is played.

Published on Fri, 26 May 2017 06:10:24 +0200

By replay, do you mean finish our game?  We did have a big battle and I won, but just barely.  And it didn't involve xInt's main force lol.  So, it wasn't conclusive.

Published on Fri, 26 May 2017 05:48:21 +0200

We confirmed that if you didn't manage to finish the game by the deadline and the scores were judged too close to choose a winner, it would be a 1 month replay. Round 3 would still start while you do the replay.

Published on Wed, 24 May 2017 09:39:18 +0200

we're both making moves to end the game and if Gilafron is as prepared as he seems maybe the game is already over (:

anyway - it was the map that dictated our behavior here - not much fighting and a lot of possitioning and just scouting wars, so blame the RNG (: i love this kind of games and i really wanted to see who is going to get T4 class units first, seems it's going to be giants vs snakes and not dendroids vs flying spaghetti monsters

p.s. i'm not at all sure if any of us knows how to play for points.. it may be my 2nd game where this decision comes up and i'm kinda feeling guilty ):

Published on Wed, 24 May 2017 07:39:41 +0200

There are 7 days left, I discussed briefly with Gilafron and you're at 40+ turns. We're discussing among judges and waiting for Fistandantilus' opinion, so we should be able to confirm to you what would happen if your two scores are judged too close to call a winner (likely a replay with 1 month deadline). If the scores are judged significantly different, then the highest score would win.
(your game is the last one not yet finished, though 2 others are finished but haven't been reported yet)

Good luck for the remaining turns!

Published on Thu, 11 May 2017 10:12:57 +0200

Each round lasts 2 months, that's more than enough to play the game. A 24 hours turn timer is supposed to be on.

30 other players participate in the tournament and they do not want to wait for other players. We've seen in past tournaments that waiting too long to complete a tournament meant we lost key players along the way so we're not going to change that, sorry.

20 days is more than enough to finish your game. That should be at a minimum 20 turns and duel games lasting more than 50 turns are pretty rare.

Published on Thu, 11 May 2017 09:59:25 +0200

what is going on - why is the time constantly running out?!

not sure about the turn - 30

i want to be able to play my games at whatever pace is tactically best for me ): we're getting better at the game and now rushes are not that good as the balance is improved and the players are better...

Published on Thu, 11 May 2017 04:14:59 +0200

20 days left until the of round. If your game is not finished by then, the game will be decided by score (if the difference between the score is high enough).
