Not sure if this was reported in other threads:
- the patch 1.8 "Poseidon" doesn't seem to integrate well with the Balance Mod (or should I say vice-versa).
the one issue I spotted right away - that the embarked settler doesn't get the "Build water Fortress" ability. When disabling balance mod and running test game - ability does show up.
There are currently 3 open games:
- 4vs4 The Sinner are looking for opponents: the team Sin is looking for 4 opponents. Gilafron and rickyroo already joined so it seems they need 2 more players.
- 3vs3 large no quitters 1.21 BF: rickyroo hosted a game open to everyone from the Battlefield. It uses standard tournament settings except that it's a Large map, Land (instead of Continent), 3 heroes at level 15 max (instead of 2 at lvl 13 or 20). I think the spirit is probably that 6 players join and then teams are set up, as balanced as possible. So no need to have a team to join (correct me rickyroo if I'm wrong).
- Favoured Mods 3v3 1.8 BETAxBETA: SeeR hosted a "fancy game" as he calls them.
By the way, we have few teams that have 4 players, or even 3 players. So don't hesitate to contact other players you like to play with to create new team or join their team! Here is the situation of teams as I know them:
- The Sinners has 4 players
- A Song of Blight and Ice has 3 players (cbower left) and is playing a 4vs4 with Jean de Metz
- King Serpents has 4 players
- Old-bf has 2 active players
- Zia has 2 players
- Team of Bears has 2 players
- Coup de Grâce has 2 players
- rrrrookie & Jonny Thunder also regularly plays as a team (though not officially registered)
- Hawks has many players but is not like other teams
I have been uploading the videos of the turns from rickyroo and I's game vs rrrrookie and Jonny Thunder in round 3 of the PBEM 2vs2 Team Tournament (still many turns to upload, it takes some time). I don't think there is any way to fix this in the PBEM mod though, but from a tournament point of view I find this frustrating. Maybe an option would be to select the victor by playing two games instead of one, where the race+class would be swiched in the second game ?
are you aware that Triumph is planning on making water forts part of a game?

PLEASE REPORT any such issues so that we can help you and identify potential other problems.
My personal advice is to not use the official open beta for any game, except games created specifically to test it, as it is likely to cause troubles.

@Gilafron & other map makers: the idea of organizing a "tactical battle challenge" has been discussed on the chat recently and we would need someone to create a map with 7 similar areas with about 15 sites to clear for each of the 7 players. The idea is that 7 players clear sites that are exactly the same, with exactly the same army, and an 8th player is allied to all of them to see what they do and do videos and comments their actions, to share with the wider community. Would someone be interested to help create the map?

We already have a new Race, the Shadow Elves, and they are also almost ready. The expansion has an internal coherence, a lore background, a dedicated team who has been working on it for months. There are many great contents on the Steam workshop but we are not going to integrate all of it into the expansion just because it's great, there need to be coherence and implication from the modders into the team effort. Also, you must not underestimate the work to merge mods, make them interact well together (including in terms of balance) and polish them to a sufficient degree of quality. Our resources are limited and I think bringing 1 Race, 2 Dwelling, 1 layer, new units and strategic structures is already a lot.
Regarding Shadow Demons, they will be roamers and defenders in the new structures, they won't be a Race or a Class because of our limited resources.

If you are planning to incorporate the Archons as a Dwelling, why not incorporate them as an entire Race? Â I suggest seriously thinking about it since a lot of work is completed for adding them as a race. Â Perhaps all that is left is balancing. Â To me, it seems a new race is preferable to a new dwelling.Â
